Questions

The questions people ask before paying. Already a customer with a problem? The support page is for that.

The product

What is Wilson Finance?

A planning tool with five connected sections: a monthly budget with real tax brackets, savings (401(k), HSA, employer match, an emergency cushion and goals), a net-worth sheet with dated snapshots, debt payoff with a full mortgage analyzer, and a year-by-year retirement projection. Each shows its working, so every figure can be traced back to the numbers behind it.

Is this financial advice?

No. It is an education and planning tool. It calculates and shows; it does not tell you what to do, grade your situation, or recommend any product. For decisions about your money, talk to a qualified professional.

Does it connect to my bank?

No, and it will not. You type the figures in. It is slower on the first evening, and it means no stored bank login and no standing permission for anything to read your accounts. More on the security page.

Can I bring in my investments from my broker?

Yes, without connecting to it. Download the positions file your broker offers (a CSV from the positions or holdings page) and import it in Retirement › Holdings. You see what is in each account, how it is split, and your largest holdings. Only the positions are saved, not the file, and a file can be removed at any time.

Where does it work?

In any modern browser, on a computer or a phone, at app.wilsonfinance.app. An iPhone app is coming soon; it will use the same account and the same plans, so a change on one will show on the other.

Can two people share a plan?

One account holds one household’s plan, and the Budget handles two earners with their own pay, taxes and contributions. Separate logins for each partner are not supported yet.

How accurate are the tax and retirement figures?

They use the current year’s federal brackets, standard deduction, FICA and contribution limits, and required minimum distributions from the IRS tables. They do not model every credit, phase-out or itemised deduction, and a projection is only as good as the growth and inflation assumed. The figures are estimates for comparing scenarios, not a tax return.

Price and billing

What does it cost?

$5.99 per month, or $49.99 per year ($4.17 a month — about 30% less). One subscription covers the web now, and the iPhone app when it launches.

Is there a free trial?

There is something more useful than a timer: the live tour is the whole app with an example household’s numbers in it, every chart and projection working, with no account and no card. Creating an account is free as well; a subscription is what saves your own figures.

What happens if I cancel?

You keep full access to the end of the period you paid for. After that, everything you entered stays readable and exportable; new changes are not saved until you subscribe again.

Can I get a refund?

For subscriptions bought on the web, email support@wilsonfinance.app within 14 days of a charge. Once the iPhone app launches, purchases made there will be refunded by Apple under its own policy. The full detail is in the terms.

Your data

Who can see my numbers?

You. The database refuses to return your rows to any other account. We do not sell data, there is no advertising, and we do not look at an individual account’s figures unless you ask us to fix a problem with it. The security page covers the detail, including the limits.

Can I take my data with me, or delete it?

Both, from the Account screen, at any time. “Download my data” saves everything as one file; “Delete account” removes the account and every figure in it.

Who is behind it?

Wilson Finance, LLC, in Oklahoma, United States. An independent product, paid for by its subscribers and nothing else.

Still deciding? Open the live tour, or email support@wilsonfinance.app and a person will answer.
